This crowd was one of our largest at a Weather Radio event. Many of the folks in line have lived through two of the state's deadly tornadoes this past year, the ones in April and the one that hit Center Point Jan. 23.

The Fox 6 crew headed out to the Walgreens in Center Point Feb. 8 for Weather Radio Wednesday, a day devoted to programming NOAA weather radios for free. Walgreens sold the NOAA weather radios for $29.99 and sold at least 1,000 on Wednesday alone. Folks waited in a long line to have their weather radios programmed for free by a member of the Fox 6 weather radio team, NOAA representatives and people with the Midland weather radio company.
